You are being asked to write down some of the most personal things about your life. You should know precisely who can see them, and what happens next.
Only people you name can ever see it
You choose a trusted person — usually your executor. Nothing is released to them while you are alive unless you deliberately share it.
Access can be changed or revoked any time
Add a trusted person, remove them, or swap them out. Permissions are per-section, so someone can be given the funeral wishes without the financial details.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Every connection is encrypted, and documents and photos are stored encrypted. Passwords are hashed and never visible to us.
Your information is never used to train AI
When you ask for a eulogy or letter draft, only that request is sent to the AI model. It is not retained for training and your plan is never used to build models.
What happens when I die?

Your trusted person notifies us
The person you designated contacts MyWishes and provides proof — usually a death certificate or funeral director confirmation.

We verify before anything opens
We confirm the notification independently, and we attempt to reach you first. Nothing is released on a single unverified request.

Access is released, exactly as you set it
Your trusted person receives access to the sections you chose to release — wishes, contacts, documents, story, celebration — and nothing else.

They receive the celebration package
Instead of a pile of files, they get an organised package: what you wanted, who to call, your story, the obituary draft, the photos and the music.

Your letters are delivered
Any letters you wrote to specific people are passed to them, unopened by anyone else.
What if MyWishes ever shuts down?
You can export everything — every answer, document, photo and draft — at any time, in a plain, readable format. If the service ever wound down, every account holder would be given long notice and a full export before anything was deleted. Your plan should never depend on us still existing.
Deleting your account
Delete at any time and your plan, documents and photographs are permanently removed — not archived, not anonymised, not kept for analytics.
